With the acquisition of the Bex site in January 2023, Prayon has established itself as the European leader in electronics-grade phosphoric acid and can leverage its technological expertise to meet the most stringent quality requirements of the electronics sector. This new investment will ideally position the Group in this niche market, which is expected to double in Europe and North America by 2030.
“This electronics-grade phosphoric acid production unit will help secure our leadership in Europe while strengthening our position to meet growing demand in the United States,” said Geoffrey Close, Prayon CEO. “It is in line with our strategy of expanding into markets where our expertise makes a difference and will help to reinforce the Group’s robustness.”
The new production facility is scheduled to be operational by 2028. Prayon’s investment will help support the semiconductor industry by ensuring a supply in Europe and the USA of ultrapure phosphoric acid for critical technologies ranging from electric vehicles and mobile devices to data centers and artificial intelligence (AI).
